PIC - FRIENDLY E FERNANDEZ AND DAD 002When our program commenced in 1995 we were soon introduced to 38 year-old Eddie Fernandez.  He had suffered a brain injury and his father wanted the relief adult day care would bring.  We were concerned about his attendance considering most of the participants were age 75 and above.  We compensated by allowing Eddie to keep busy in a variety of tasks.  In addition we ensured he was positioned near the more talkative attendees so he could keep himself engaged.  Other important ingredients we implemented will be shared in the June 2014 issue of the Adult Day Care Refinement Journal.

A healthy discussion on this subject reminds us that adult day services are for a variety of differing populations.  www.americancasemanagementinc,.com.
